The story / Tepo

The character’s story

A few quiet sips, and the journey can continue.

Cultural context

An imagined late seventh-century setting. The long outer garment and broad lapels draw on a Tang-period museum figure; the tea context comes from a separate archaeological source. The bowl, gesture and nonhuman creature form are original inventions.
