早春时节，Michael Zhan 在福建的采购旅程中，偏离了寻茶的主要路线，前去拜访一位他在云南听一位普洱生产商提过的木车床师傅。这间工作室坐落于武夷山附近的一片竹林边缘，空气中交织着新切木料的气息与车床的低鸣声。这位师傅是第三代的木工匠人，大约十年前才开始制作茶器，他留意到茶人常用杯垫或废弃的陶片临时充当盖置。他渴望做出更具用心之感的对象 — 质地柔和、静谧无声，而且取自家乡茶园荫蔽下的樱桃树。每只半月形盖置都从休眠季节采下的树枝开始，那时树液稀少、木纹稳定。先以湿木状态车削成形，随后自然风干至少三个月，再进行最后的修整，并以食用山茶油处理。Michael 选择了一小批，共十八个盖置，令他着迷的是木头承载光线的方式 — 暖琥珀色的心材，部分还保留了较浅边材的纤细镶边。这样的故事正好契合 tea.toys 的理念：小巧的手工对象，在茶席上挣得一席之地，并随着使用而愈发美丽。
