Tea
惠明茶 Huìmíngchá — geographical indication, gold at the Panama-Pacific International Exposition of 1915; the She ancestors were the first tea growers of Fenghuangshan, where single-bush 单丛 originated, and She families still hold the harvest in the 福鼎白茶 zone
Crown growth
A thin twisted leaf strand: a single long rolled twist rises from the crown and curves upward in a soft S, the twist visible at the bends, the base dusted with white down 白毫. Not a hook and not a fan, but a cord
Headwear
Everyday roll: hair at the forehead wrapped with red wool yarn into a tight roll, TILTED FORWARD and protruding like a visor past the brow line, the back of the head covered by a dark kerchief tied at the nape; a slot at the top of the roll for the strand. Unlike Aya’s ring-roll, which is symmetrical and does not protrude, this roll is carried forward by 4–5 mm and leaves a smooth mass of kerchief behind it
Clothing
Dark indigo cross-front jacket with red and yellow embroidered trim along the collar, calf-length trousers, leg wraps, straw sandals, a basket on shoulder straps. In its hands a bamboo sieve with withering leaf
Palette
Indigo in three tones, red wool yarn of the roll, red-yellow trim in two threads, undyed bamboo of the sieve. No green goes into the headwear, the roll is red-indigo
Why this is not a caricature
The ceremonial 凤凰髻 and the entire 凤凰装 are excluded outright: they are bridal wear, and a bridal item on a figure lying in a tea box is the same as someone else’s wedding ring. The silver tube pin is not given in any simplified form, because it is precisely what distinguishes the bridal version from the everyday one. The everyday roll, worn at work, is retained. The tea base for the She is the most documented in the set — GI, bush registry, dated award — and the card references a document with a year rather than asserting costume authenticity: it states plainly that the clothing is simplified for form and is not a reference
